Our National Training program is one of the most important and effective vehicles we have to foster a national culture and network our most valuable resource: our people. It is also our primary means for providing the critical training that will enable you to help CBIZ and MHM provide the highest-quality tax, audit and business advisory services available in the marketplace.
Our National Training program features in-house instructors, ranging in level from Senior Associates to Directors. This program facilitates internal networking and provides unique career opportunities for those interested in being part of the training and development team. We offer classes from entry level through Senior Manager to meet the needs of all skill levels and career interests.
All modules incorporate group activities to help you build relationships with associates from other offices and disciplines. Over the course of their careers, our associates grow together. They learn about the various disciplines that exist within the CBIZ model and, most importantly, how to leverage that knowledge to help our clients grow.
Career Development Programs
Associate Professional Development (APD) – APD facilitates and promotes the understanding and development of the skills required to be a highly successful professional in accounting while contributing to the overall success of our organization.
Senior Professional Development (SPD) – SPD provides Senior Associates a forum to nurture the connection between personal success and company success, accelerates advancement opportunities and cultivates an early leadership mindset.
Manager Workshops – These two-day workshops are designed for Managers and Senior Managers. Attendees are selected on an office-by-office basis by leadership. Each workshop focuses on the development of specific skills and competencies and give them the tools to continue progressing on their career path.
Participants receive 12-14 CPE credit hours for these workshops.
Emerging Managing Director Academy (EMDA) – The EMDA is designed for Senior Managers who possess the desire and have demonstrated the potential to become a Managing Director. The objective is to ensure that candidates have a clear awareness of the skills, knowledge and expertise required to achieve both personal and professional success as a Managing Director while providing them with the professional development and experience that will prepare them for the challenges and expectations that are part and parcel to being a high-performing Managing Director.
Each spring, EMDA candidates are nominated by Senior Managing Directors and approved by the EMDA Committee, the CEO and COO of CBIZ Financial Services. Once admitted, candidates attend five meetings together over a 12- to 14-month timeframe, with a goal of receiving a promotion to Managing Director.
